Starting Premises
The project is grounded in the observation that contemporary cities are predominantly designed to meet human needs and economic imperatives, while urban biodiversity—spontaneous vegetation, insects, birds, small mammals, or microorganisms—often remains invisible and marginalized. Accelerated urbanization has led to a disconnection between people and natural processes, with negative effects on both the environment and human well-being.
In this context, the project proposes a re-signification of the city: not as a mere backdrop or functional infrastructure, but as a complex ecosystem—a network of interdependencies in which humans are co-participants rather than mere users. The concept of the “city’s unspoken voices” serves as an educational metaphor for non-human life forms whose existence, needs, and contributions are rarely acknowledged in urban planning and education.
